Inter-Club Junior League Rules

Gwent Golf Union Junior League Rules

1. The Junior League will be played between clubs affiliated to the Gwent Golf Union and  Wales Golf.

2. Matches to be played on a home and away basis.

3. Fixtures to be arranged between club Junior Organisers.

4. Teams to consist of three juniors.

5.1 The Leagues will consist of 2 Leagues playing off full handicap.
Boys to play from Yellow Tees, girls to play from Red Ladies Medal Tees

5.2 The Leagues will play off a Maximum handicap of 36, with full handicap allowance and  play in handicap order. Where one of the players is a girl then the following adjustment  to the girls handicap is to be a condition of the competition. CONGU Appendix ‘O’  The difference between the Ladies and Mens SSS is added to the girls handicap if the  Ladies SSS is greater than the Mens SSS before the full handicap differential is applied.  The girl shall play off the Ladies Medal Tees, and the shots to be taken off the Mens  Stroke Index.
Note: The maximum handicap allowed could exceed 36 after adding the difference  between the Mens & Ladies SSS.

6. Team members must be under 18 years of age on January 1st of the playing season.

7. Points scored:- 1 points game win. ½ point game halved. 0 points game lost.

8. The team with the most points at the end of the season shall be the league division  winners. In the event of a tie the team with the most matches won shall be the league  winners. In the event of a further tie the team with the most games won will be declared  the league winners, if further tied then the team with the most away games won shall be  the league winners.

9. All matches to be played in handicap order (lowest plays lowest etc.)

10. The home club to provide a simple meal where possible.

11. An adult must accompany each team.

12. CADDIES ARE NOT ALLOWED.

13. Junior Organisers are to ensure that their teams conform to the standard of dress and  behaviour required by the host club, both on and off the course.

(Players could be requested to leave the course or club house if improperly dressed)

14. Results must be sent to the Junior League Secretary within seven days by the home club  Junior Organiser.

15. All Junior Organisers must notify the Junior League Secretary of their fixtures and  dates at the beginning of the season.

16. Matches not played on agreed date cannot be conceded by either club, and must be  rearranged.
If the Junior Organisers of both clubs cannot rearrange the fixture amicably then the  Gwent Junior Secretary will obtain a date from the home club when the match can be  played. Both Junior Organisers will be given 10 days notice of this date. If both teams fail to show up then no points will be awarded. If only one team reports for the match  then they will be awarded 3 points for a match win.
